coming soon Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8

  • The Samsung Galaxy Note II not enough phone? Well, perhaps you'll want the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 to serve as the middle ground of your next Android smartphone.

Samsung today announced the exceptionally large Galaxy Mega 6.3 but the Korean manufacturer also announced a relatively smaller version of the phone that has a 5.8-inch LCD display with a 960x540 resolution. A qHD resolution at that size won't make for a stunning display, but Samsung hopes other features will attract users. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 has a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot supporting up to 64GB. The phone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a long list of Touchwiz software additions previously seen on the Samsung Galaxy S 4.

  • The Galaxy Mega 5.8 has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone supports Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, and USB 2.0 H/S. A 2,600 mAh battery and HSPA+ 21 connectivity round-out the key specs.
  • Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Mega 5.8 in Europe and Russia beginning next month. It will then rollout to other regions later in 2013.
